The Biosphere Walk, Run, Roll is the largest
fundraiser for cottage country health care.
Hosted by West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation (WPSHCF) the
spectacular route twists along the shoreline of Georgian Bay, meanders through
historic homes, climbs to a celebrated vista point and offers a downhill finish
to the sparkling waters of Georgian Bay. Pledges purchase life-saving
equipment for ICU/Emergency. The Health Centre is the only
Emergency on the 250 K route between Barrie and Sudbury in addition, the
facility makes it possible for patients with chronic diseases like cancer,
cardiovascular diseases and pulmonary diseases to live and cottage in the
area.

Every Penny pledged is used to buy equipment for West Parry Sound Health Centre. In 2010, pledges will purchase a second Bi-PAPP machine ($20,000) for ICU and Emergency. The Bi-PAPP is a non-invasive machine critical to patients with congestive heart failure. It helps them breathe by helping to rid them of an over load of fluids. In addition to the Bi-PAPP purchase is an order of pedometers for patients in our Cardiac Rehab Program. The pedometer will be a powerful new tool on our heart patient's road to recovery.
