Works of art made from brassieres!This unique collection of “Art-bras” came about when a group of women decided to raise money for a new mammogram machine.They asked for decorated bras from the breast cancer community : sufferers and survivors, caregivers and healthcare workers, friends and family. Gathered here are some of the fantastic creations they received from “bra-artistas” from Canada, the US, and internationally.
Full of whimsy and humor, each bra is a piece of art. And their creatorsall have stories to tell about the women who inspired them: womenwho greet every day with hope, women who are full of courage, andwomen who are missed.
The artist behind the bra “Cradles of Civilization” chose to representAfrica – the cradle of life – to express her support for all mothers anddaughters who are battling breast cancer. The “Jingles” bra wascrafted in memory of the laughter shared with a dear friend. Andwhat better way to cheer for a cure than a saucy green shamrock branamed “Lucky Charms”? As the creator of the “Sports Bra” says, it’stime to blow the whistle on cancer!
