About WPSHC Foundation
Our Vision: To provide extraordinary support for health care in cottage county.
Working together with health care professionals, patients, our community and
government, The West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation’s goal is to continually
raise funds to support the on-going medical needs of the people who choose to
live and cottage here.
Serving a population that fluctuates from 20,000
upwards to 121,000 during the peak summer season in Georgian Bay, the West
Parry Sound Health Centre’s services are diverse. The unique bundle of
programs offered would not be possible without the generous support, commitment
and dedication of our community.
Our three main lines of business at the West Parry Sound Health Centre
Foundation are: Fundraising, Investment Management
and Stewardship.
Our Purpose
To raise and steward funds to deliver exemplary patient care to a community that comes to us from across North America and beyond.

Our Goals
Fundraising:
To raise $1 million in gross fundraising
revenue by March 31, 2014 (end of the 2013/2014 year). In 2012/13 the Foundation successfully exceeded its $1.3 million target with gross revenues of $1,455,177.
Currently, the Foundation holds $2.1 million in its endowed fund (as of the end
of the 2012/2013 year). Our goal is to hold
$10,000,000 in endowed funds by the year 2020. All estates received by the Foundation are transfered into our Forever Fund (endowed fund). Interest/dividends from the invested capital on this fund annually buys equipment on the medical priority list. In 2013/14 earned income from the endowed fund ensures the Foundation's ability to buy the Health Centre's desperately needed new Integrated Pharmacy Management System.
Money Transferred to the Health Centre
To transfer $1,011,197 of new funds to the Health Centre for
priority equipment purchases by March 31, 2013. As of end of March 2013 the Foundation transferred $462,892 of the targeted $897,000 to the Health Centre. The difference is the time delay at 'year-end' between RFP, purchase and invoices received by the Foundation (c-Arm) and the continued fundraising for the 3rd anesthetic machine. Money for 2 machines is being held until enough money has been acquired to buy 3.
Investing:
To achieve a competitive rate of return in the General and Restricted fund given the short-term nature of our payment commitment.
Operational Efficiency:
To honour our Donors and direct their donations to providing extraordinary health care in cottage country.
